Ever experienced a comfortable silence when speech would spoil the beautiful moment, a moment that requires you to
wallow in it in silence so that the experience really seeps into your mind, your heart and your soul and gets etched
there as a cherished moment? There are times when speech has to be silent for all the five senses to be pronounced.
A silent touch that says I am here for you for I care deeply about you. A silent look across a crowded room from your
partner that says I love you or I find you attractive. A silence after tasting food that says this is sub-standard or
mediocre cooking. A silence after hearing something, that says I choose not to contribute to such a conversation. A
silence that says I feel overwhelmed. Yes, silence can speak volumes.

It's not always that we need to speak, there are moments when our eyes speak for us, moments when our hands speak for
us or to put it simply moments when our actions speak for us. It is said that actions speak louder than words and that
is very true. Imagine having to tell someone that you love her or him with actions without saying, "I love you." How
would you do it? Believe me, whatever action you decide to use to convey the love will have more impact than simply
uttering the phrase, "I love you," because actions are more convincing than spoken words. When speech is silent
actions become very loud and clear.

Utter silence is far from being devoid of charm. Words can not convey the almost voluptuous sweetness of the
feelings experienced when mind and senses develop their sensibility in silence through continual observations and
reflections. In silence I am able to connect with myself and do some soul-searching without anything to make my
thoughts wander. The soul speaks its truth only under quiet, inviting, and trustworthy silent conditions for it is
like a wild animal, tough, resilient, savvy, self-sufficient, and yet exceedingly shy. If we want to see a wild animal,
the last thing we should do is to go crashing through the woods, shouting for the creature to come out. But if we are
willing to walk silently into the woods and sit silently for an hour or two at the base of a tree, the creature we are
waiting for may well emerge, and out of the corner of an eye we will catch a glimpse of the precious soul we seek.

WHEN SPEECH IS SILENT THE SILENCE SPEAKS VOLUMES

The beauty of nature is more pronounced in silence.
