I have moved away from the rails
Most people, the vast majority in fact, lead the lives that circumstances have thrust upon them, and though some repine, looking upon themselves as round pegs in square holes, and think that if things had been different they might have made a better showing, the greater part accept their lot, if not with serenity, at all events with resignation. They are like tram-cars travelling forever on the self-same rails and they despise the sprightly flivver that dashes in and out of the traffic and speeds so jauntily across the open country. They go backwards and forwards, backwards and forwards, inevitably, till they can no longer and then are sold as scrap-iron. It is not often that you find a fascinating person who has boldly taken the course of his/her life into his/her own hands and moulded it to their own liking. At a cross-road it does seem to us that we might go either to the right or to the left and the choice once made it is difficult to see that the whole course of the world's history obliged us to take the turning we did. I have moved away from the rails and am enjoying every moment of it.
The true soulmates

The world is full of marriages but it is rarely that you see marriages between true soulmates and when you do encounter such a marriage from a distance you can feel the closeness between the two soulmates just by watching and observing them when they are together. I had the privilege of befriending a couple who are true soulmates. Agnes and TGJ are rather reserved people and when I first met them at the golf club were my ex-husband and I often frequented I couldn't help noticing that they were so much in love and very close to each other. Besides the love there was also a great friendship between them and their unity always rather reminded me of Viola and Sebastin in Twelfth Night, except these two were not lovers but siblings. When you visit them at their house you enjoy yourself because you can't help seeing how attached they are to one another. They think of the same things at the same time and they have little private jokes that make them laugh like children. They are so charming with one another, so gay and happy, that really to stay with them is always a spiritual refreshment. Everytime I leave them after visiting them I feel that I have absorbed some of their peace and their sober gaiety. It will be like my soul has been sluiced with cool clear water. I feel strangely purified and happy. Their love for each other is contagious.
I don't expect gratitude
Don't you think that it is a bit thick that when you've been thoroughly good to people they should go out of their way to do the dirty on you? It's such awful ingratitude but then one mustn't expect gratitude, it's a thing that no one has a right to. After all, you do good because it gives you pleasure. It is the purest form of pleasure there is and to expect thanks for it is really asking too much. If you get it, well it's like a bonus on shares on which you have already received a dividend, it is grand, but you mustn't look upon it as your due.

I am a romantic at heart, a great thinker in mind and long to see a world in which
everyone has peace, love and happiness.
